8/13/16 Bridleless Riding and Horsemanship™ with Lindsey Partridge, 5:30-7:30
The Institute for Equine Assisted Practices, and Crystal Lake Farm, is excited and honored to host winner of the 2015 Thoroughbred Makeover, Lindsey Partridge!
Lindsey will be bringing one of her 2016 Thoroughbred partners, and share some training tips and her Harmony Horsemanship™.
Harmony Horsemanship™ focuses on 3 parts:
Understand Yourself
Understand Your Horse
Understand the Language
The language starts by teaching horses and riders their A, B, C’s – the basic fundamental skills for communication.
By learning how to move a horse, move with a horse, and understand a horse’s body language the human can begin to develop a partnership with the horse.
By using the A, B, C’s to create puzzles and more complex conversations with their horse they continue to build confidence and trust – ultimately strengthening their communication and connection with their horse.
After horses learn their A, B, C’s they begin to realize they can understand the human which helps them relax and find calmness. The basic skills combined with understanding horse psychology and how to be in the best position for the horse really set a horse and human up for success. This is what leads to harmony between horse and human.
Harmony Horsemanship™ incorporates a lot of natural horsemanship and centered riding methods. Natural horsemanship is a training technique that uses communication and leadership instead of intimidation and fear. Centered riding is a technique to help riders be in better balance with their horses. Together these techniques create the perfect combination for horses and humans to get connected.
Harmony because the human is moving with the horse in balance, aware of their horses thoughts, emotions, and capabilities – and most importantly how to respond to those thoughts and emotions to unleash the capabilities their horse has to offer.
Lindsey Partridge is a certified Equestrian coach of Ontario, Equine Canada Rider level 8, Parelli Level 3 graduate, Natural Horsemanship Association Gold certified coach/trainer, Centered Riding Level 1 Instructor, and winner of the Thoroughbred Makeover 2015 with her mare Soar.
